Frequently Asked Questions

What do your services cost?

Our services are free!

How are your services free?

We are compensated by the Assisted Livings, and Residential Care Homes we place our seniors in.

What is included in your free service?

We will meet with you to discuss the situation, and to do an assessment of you or your loved one. Once we have completed the assessment and have a good understanding of the care needs and your budget we will help you establish a long term care plan.

If placement is most appropriate we will get further understanding of the wants/needs, and location and begin reaching out to care homes that can accommodate the needs/wants.

If In Home Care is whats best we will help establish the number of hours needed, how many days per week and then will work to line up caregivers for the selected times.

What things are covered in the assessment?

Some of the things discussed during the assessment:

  • Physical Care Needs
  • Social Care Needs
  • Emotional Care Needs
  • Location Preferences
  • Income/Finances

We will gather all of this information to determine the best plan for you or your loved one.

I don't know if In Home Care or Placement is best for my Mom. Can you help me decide?

Absolutely. We will work with you to understand your Moms needs, and the situation, and then give our professional opinion on what the best long term plan is.

Is Assisted Living the same as a Convalescent Hospital?

Convalescent Hospitals also known as Skilled Nursing Facilities are an acute setting where medical care is provided. They also provide both rehabilitation and Long Term Custodial Care. Most insurances cover Skilled Nursing stays.

Assisted Livings are non-medical. They do not have licensed nurses or doctors on staff.

I have a Long Term Care Policy but I don't know what my coverage is. Can you help me find out?

Of course. We would be happy to help you determine what your coverage is.

How do I know if it is time to start looking for care?

Its time to start looking for care if you find that you or your loved one need assistance with things like bathing, grooming, dressing, medication management, preparing meals, toileting assistance or if you have trouble ambulating.
